Baseball begins SIAC Postseason play on Thursday
MOBILE, Ala. (May 2, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team will open play at the 2022 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship Tournament as the No. 2 seed on Thursday, May 5, beginning at noon (eastern) versus the Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Panthers at Albany (Ga.) State University West Campus Stadium.

The Badgers (34-13; 23-4 SIAC) swept the 7th-seeded Panthers (18-29; 11-18 SIAC) by the scores of 13-3, 15-5 and 6-2 earlier this season at historic Stan Galle Field on March 26-27. Spring Hill holds a 9-0 advantage in the historical series that dates back to 2017 with all games in SIAC play.

Spring Hill won the 2019 SIAC Tournament Championship and the tournament was not held in 2020 or 2021 due the NCAA Novel Coronavirus shutdown.

The Badgers are the top rated team in scoring in NCAA Division II with a 12.0 runs per game average while center fielder Gage Ragona and first baseman Micah Morgan lead Division II with 80 and 72 runs scored respectively.

Dependent upon Thursday's results, the Badgers will play again at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. on Friday.
