Badgers put three on NCBWA All-South Roster
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (May 19, 2022) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named three Spring Hill College (SHC) student-athletes to its 2022 Baseball All-South Region Team with sophomore Micah Morgan earning 1st team honors at 1st base.

Morgan, a native of Fairhope, Ala., was the 1st team selection at 1st base after a year in which he hit .446 with 24 doubles, 16 home runs and an SHC single-season record 77 RBI. He managed a .837 slugging percentage with 47 walks while completing 7-of-8 stolen base attempts. In the field, Morgan was perfect, recording 317 putouts and 19 assists with no errors while turning 35 double plays. Morgan was the 2022 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) 1st team All-Conference 1st baseman as well as the Conference Tournament MVP.

Junior center fielder Gage Ragona of Mobile, Ala. was on the 2nd team after a regular season in which he led NCAA Division II in runs scored with 88 trips around the base paths. He hit .435 in 51 starts with 20 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 48 RBI. He was 19-of-25 in stolen base attempts with a .531 on-base percentage at the leadoff spot in the Badger lineup. In the field, Ragona made 95 putouts with five assists.

Appearing on the honorable mention list, senior right fielder Grayson Williams of Mobile hit .344 on the year with 14 doubles, 15 home runs and 71 RBI. In the field he made 80 putouts with four assists.

The Badgers (38-13) begin play in the NCAA South 1 Region Tournament on Thursday at 1 p.m. (eastern) at the No. 2-ranked University of Tampa Spartans.
