Badger offense steamrolls past Tuskegee in DH

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (April 23, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team swept a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader away from the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers by the scores of 19-2 and 13-2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Tigers (10-20; 8-13 SIAC) managed just two hits off Badger starter Colin Millar (8-3) who earned the 5-inning victory with two walks and three strikeouts.

Meanwhile, the SHC offense racked up 18 hits with six walks and four strikeouts versus Savontae Williams (3-5) and Maizen Price. Badger left fielder Luke Sweeney was 5-for-6 with five RBI and a stolen base while 2nd baseman Frankie Timphony was 4-for-5 including a triple, a home run and seven RBI. Grayson Williams connected for his 12th homer of the year in the 2nd inning.

Logan Clark (7-2) earned the 5-inning win in the nightcap, giving up just three hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. Four Tuskegee pitchers surrendered 18 hits with eight walks and six strikeouts to the Spring Hill lineup.

Micah Morgan and Cam Brock both collected three hits with a double and three RBI each.

The Badgers (30-12; 19-4 SIAC) will face the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts (21-19) in a non-conference game on Jim Spooner Field in Pensacola on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
