MOBILE, Ala. (February 9, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team suffered an 83-65 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) home loss to the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Wednesday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Golden Tigers (18-2; 12-1 SIAC West) built a 42-25 lead at halftime and led by as much as 27 points with four minutes left in the 3
rd quarter.
SHC was led by
Tyashia Bostick with 28 points and
Brandy Lee with 15 points. The Badgers shot 45.1% (23-51) overall and were 25% (4-16) from the 3-point line. SHC hurt itself by shooting just 55.6% (15-27) at the free throw line and lost 27 turnovers to 10 Tiger steals, resulting in 33 points for the visitors.
Tuskegee had four players reach double digits in scoring led by Aaliyah Austin's 18 points. The Tigers shot 44.9% (31-69) from the floor and 31.3% (16-20) from beyond the arc. Tuskegee out-rebounded the Badgers 37-36 and lost 14 turnovers to eight steals by SHC.
The Badgers (4-19; 2-11 SIAC West) will travel to Tennessee this weekend to play the LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) Magicians (8-11; 3-5 SIAC West) at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bruce Hall Gymnasium in Memphis.
