MOBILE, Ala. (February 6, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team suffered a 94-78 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) home loss to the Central State University (CSU) Marauders on Sunday afternoon at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Marauders (4-13; 3-10 SIAC West) jumped out to a 51-31 halftime lead and never looked back in the second half.
SHC was led by
Brandy Lee with 30 points and
Tyashia Bostick with 21 while
Zareia Ector added 10 points to the Badger scorebook. Spring Hill shot 46.4% (26-56) from the floor including 21.4% (3-14) from 3-point range. The Badgers lost 18 turnovers to 14 CSU steals resulting in 28 points off turnovers for the visitors from Ohio.
Ciara Hardy led CSU with 35 points and 12 rebounds while Dashanti Miller had 15 points and 20 rebounds. The Marauders out-rebounded SHC 56-34 and lost 13 turnovers to 11 Badger steals. CSU was 40.5% (32-79) from the field and 40% (10-25) from 3-point distance
The Badgers (4-17; 2-9 SIAC West) will remain in home action on Monday with a 5:30 p.m. match against the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobreds (5-10; 3-8 SIAC West) at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
