TUSKEGEE, Ala. (February 22, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team closed out the 2021-2022 regular season with an 81-54 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) loss to the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Tuesday evening at the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.
The Golden Tigers (21-4; 14-3 SIAC West) led 34-24 at the half and 53-35 at the end of the 3
rd quarter.
SHC shot 31.7% (20-63) overall and 4.2% (1-24) from the 3-point arc.
Tyashia Bostick led SHC with 16 points and 10 rebounds
Zareia Ector added 12 points and
Zariel Jordan scored 10 points. The Badgers lost 14 turnovers to eight Tiger steal and were out-rebounded 36 to 55.
Tuskegee shot 44.2% (34-77) from the floor, including 30.4% (7-23) from 3-point range. Ashiala Jackson had 14 points and 13 rebounds while JuToreyia Willis had 15 points with 12 rebounds. The Badgers forced the Tigers into 14 turnovers off five steals.
The Badgers (4-23; 2-15 SIAC West) will take play in the 2022 SIAC Championship Tournament as the West Division's No. 7 seed in Rock Hill, S.C. on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. (east) when they take on the West Division's No. 3 seed that is yet to be determined.
