TAMPA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team fell 3-1 (15-25, 25-23, 17-25, 23-25) to No. 1-seeded Tampa in the NCAA South Regional at the Martinez Athletics Center on Friday night.

The Badgers lost set one to the Spartans 15-25. In set two, SHC fought until the very end and won set two by a closely contested score of 25-23. Tampa took set three 25-17, before solidifying its 3-1 victory with a 25-23 win in the final set. This was the first ever meeting between the two programs.

Lily Mascari led the Badgers with a career-high 16 kills. The
Jessica Fairly led the match in assists (37) while
Mikayla Boyer led SHC with 14 digs. Tampa's defense was led by match leader Claudia Rivera (21 digs).

"Our passing and serving, the two most important phases broke down a bit especially in sets one and three. Credit Tampa with serving tough and taking us out of system most of the night. Â We competed well but could not maintain consistent passing and you have to do that to beat a good team. Proud of our seniors who competed in four regional championships as well as bring home four conference titles."
