MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's basketball team defeated its rival, Mobile, 72-59 in its season opener at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday night.

Spring Hill went into the halftime break down by one point (31-30) to Mobile. In the second half, the Badgers shot 46 percent from the floor, 60 percent from the three-point line and a perfect 100 percent (12-12) from the free throw line to outscore the Rams 42-28 in the half and complete the 72-59 comeback victory. SHC (1-0) secured its season-opening win while handing UM (3-1) its first regular-season loss.

The Badgers were led by Preseason All-SIAC First-Team selection,
Beril Kabamba, who recorded 25 points, seven rebounds and one block. He also hit a career-high three buckets from beyond the arc. The Rams were led by DaMariee Jones, who had 17 points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist.
