MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's soccer fell in its final weekend of the season to No. 20 Mississippi College and Delta State at Library Field.
Spring Hill kicked off Homecoming weekend against nationally ranked (20) Mississippi College on Friday. The Choctaws scored four goals in the first half and five in the second.
Cecilia Light put a shot on target early in the match that was stopped in the top right by the goalkeeper.
Ciara Bridges also had a shot on target that was saved by the Choctaws goalie. The Badgers fell in the first match of the weekend 0-5.
On Sunday, SHC celebrated Senior Day by honoring
Cate Baggett,
Sophie Bailey,
Anna Brunner,
Hannah Linss,
Kacy Nalley,
Carson Reeves and
Morgan Spivey before the match against Delta State. The Statesman started early with two shots on target in the first 15 minutes, both of which were stopped by Badger keeper
Carlotta Stark. Light answered with a shot on target in the 27
th minute that was stopped by the DSU goalie. Delta State netted a goal in the 39
th minute and took the lead into halftime. Reeves and
Thyri Willumsdottir both took solid shots on the goal but could not find the back of the net in the second half. Spring Hill fell in its final match of the season 0-1.
