Badgers fall in close match to No. 10 Falcons

MOBILE, Ala.  – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team fell 2-3 in a close match against No. 10 University of Montevallo at Library Field on Friday.
 
Montevallo opened scoring in the 19^th minute, before Markus Boe Tunge found the back of the net in the 35^th minute to tie the match at 1-1. In the second half, the Falcons scored two more times before the Badgers answered again when leading scorer Johannes Hanken Tjostheim netted a goal in the 72^nd minute. Spring Hill fell 2-3 to the nationally-ranked (10) Montevallo team.

"This was a great opportunity for our young team to compete against the No. 10 team in the country, and I thought the boys went toe to toe. You take away a poor goal given away in the first half and it's a competitive game to the end. Unfortunately, we come up with zero points on the day, but we will have another opportunity on Sunday against AUM so we will see."

- Tjostheim, a freshman, leads SHC in goals (10), points (10), shots (18) and shots on goal (9) so far this season.
