Lady Argos sink SHC ladies, 90-43

MOBILE, Ala. (January 25, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team endured a 90-43 non-conference (SIAC) home loss to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Tuesday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
 
The Argonauts (14-4) grabbed a 40-22 lead by halftime and continued to cruise through the 2nd half.
 
SHC shot 30.2% (16-53) for the game including 15.8% (3-19) from 3-point range while making 50% (8-16) of their free throws. The Badgers lost 15 turnovers to eight West Florida steals resulting in 17 points off turnovers for the visitors from Pensacola. Tyashia Bostick paced SHC with 14 points.
 
Four Argos reached the double-digit mark in scoring led by 18 from Gabby Brown as UWF shot 51.6% (33-64 from the floor and 48.5% (16-33) from 3-point land. The Argos also won the battle for rebounds with a 42-32 edge under the boards.
 
The Badgers (3-15; 1-7 SIAC West) will travel to Frankfort, Ky. this weekend to face the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobreds (4-7, 2-5 SIAC West) in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) contest on Saturday at 2 p.m. (east) in the William Exum Center.
