Badgers road woes continue in 2-1 loss at GSW
AMERICUS, Ga. (September 9, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team suffered its third consecutive road loss to open the 2021 season with a 2-1 downturn to the Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Hurricanes on Thursday night at Hurricane Field.

The Hurricanes (3-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of play with a goal from Jordan Plewke via an assist by Grace Grech. In the 80th minute, Lauren Ford assisted by Laura Duran Blanco tacked on a second goal for GSW.

Spring Hill's offense broke onto the board for the first time in 2021 with a strike from sophomore Carson Reeves of Birmingham, Ala., in the 84th minute.

Badger starting keeper Anna Brunner (0-3) took the loss in goal with no saves against 5 shots and 2 corner kicks.

For the Hurricanes, Grace O'Shaughnessy earned the win with 6 saves versus 9 shots and 3 corners from the Badgers.

The Badgers (0-3) return home to Library Field for their first regular season home contest of the season with a non-conference tilt versus the Albany State University (ASU) Golden Rams (0-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
