HATTIESBURG, Miss. (September 21, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team earned its ninth consecutive victory on Tuesday night with a 3-0 (25-16; 25-21; 25-16) non-conference win over the William Carey University (WCU) Crusaders at the Ben Waddle Volleyball Facility.
Spring Hill wasted no time in jumping out to a big lead early versus the Crusaders (7-6) and used a balanced attack throughout the contest as
Kassandra Fairly built a healthy .455 (12-2-22) attack percentage.
Airyonna Weaver and
Allison Weimer each tallied 10 kills with Fairly also notching three blocks (1-2) at the net.
Jessica Fairly and
Grace Harris once again took turns as the setter with Fairly edging out a 26-21 lead in assists over her teammate.
Mikayla Boyer scooped in 22 digs and served two of the three Badger aces on the night as
Taylor Fontenelle rounded up 25 digs of her own.
As a team, SHC constructed a .283 (49-15-120) attack percentage with 50 assists, 76 digs and six blocked shots (3-6).
The Badgers (9-4; 5-0 SIAC) travel to Cartersville, Ga. this weekend to play in the annual Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Divisional Crossover at the Lakepoint Sports Complex beginning on Friday versus SIAC newcomers the Allen University Yellow Jackets (0-2) at 5 p.m. (east)
