MOBILE, Ala. (September 12, 2021) – After opening the regular season with a 3-game road swing, the Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team returned to the friendly confines of Library Field on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference match with the Albany State University (ASU) Golden Rams, taking a 3-0 loss.
The Golden Rams (1-2) took a 1-0 lead into halftime off a goal by Thuto Ramafifi in the 35
th minute and added second half goals by Alexa Vivas Castro in the 64
th minute and Ambar Riquelme in the 84
th minute.
Badger starting keeper
Anna Brunner (0-4) took the loss in goal with four saves against 17 shots and three corner kicks by ASU.
Kylie Long,
Ciara Bridges, and
Ashlyn Johnson each got away two shots for SHC.
For the Golden Rams, Monique Christian (1-1) earned the win with four saves versus 10 shots and four corners from the Badgers.
The Badgers (0-4) remain at Library Field on Friday, as they will open Gulf South Conference (GSC) play versus the 23
rd-ranked University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers (2-0-1) at 3 p.m.
