MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's heptathlon athletes had an excellent outing on Friday at the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic with sophomore
Ronni VanZant of Sheridan, Ore. placing 2
nd of 8 competitors with 4120 points while sophomore
Amber Mason of Daphne, Ala. placed 3
rd with 4060 points and sophomore
Emma Lind of St. Louis, Mo. finished in 5
th place with 3581 points.

Donald Cooper remarked, "Our Heptathletes had an awesome two days competing at Montevallo. VanZant broke our school record in the Heptathlon with 4120 points and Mason also surpassed our previous school mark with 4060 points.
"We had several personal bests with Ronni notching 15.78 in the 100-meter," he said. "Emma set her new highs in the high jump at 1.45 meters, the javelin at 30.94 meters and the 800-meters at 2:25.18. Amber added her personal best in the javelin at 39.01 meters.
"They had some tough competition this weekend, but the work ethic of these young ladies during this past fall semester set them up to be successful," Cooper added. "We strive for Day Two, so I am proud of them for putting it all together and leaving here with personal bests."
