FAIRFIELD, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team took a second consecutive loss at the hands of the Miles College Golden Bears on Sunday afternoon with a 74-43 non-conference road defeat at Knox-Windham Gymnasium.

Ariel Thompson led SHC with 13 points and 8 rebounds while sophomore guard

Katie Krout hauled in 10 rebounds, but Miles still out-rebounded the Badgers 42-38.
As a team, the Badgers shot 20.8% (10-48) from the floor and made none of their 13 3-point attempts. SHC lost the ball 27 times against 20 steals by the Bears (4-10) defense for a 34-14 deficit in the points-off-turnovers column. The Badgers knocked down 65.7% (23-35) of their free throw opportunities.
Markisha Brady came off the bench for Miles to put 13 points in the hoops as a well-balanced Bears' offense shot 43.8% (28-64) from the field and 52.9% (9-17) from 3-point range. The Bears also shot 90% (9-10) from the free throw line and lost 20 turnovers to 12 steals by the Badgers. Miles dominated the paint by a 38-16 margin.
The Badgers (0-2) will next travel to Tuskegee, Ala. on Saturday and Sunday to face the Golden Tigers (0-4) of Tuskegee University in a two-game non-conference set at 1 p.m. both days in the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.
