Badger women can't catch Colonels, 73-53

THIBODEAUX, La. (November 19, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team finished the exhibition portion of its 2021-22 season with a 73-53 loss to the NCAA Division I Nicholls State University (NSU) Colonels at David R. Stopher Gymnasium on Friday afternoon.

The Colonels (2-2) used a 7-0 run at the end of the 1st quarter to break open an early defensive battle and take a 14-3 lead. SHC kept Nicholls within their sights throughout the 2nd quarter, however, maintaining a 23-15 deficit with 3:18 left until halftime. Timely defensive rebounding by NSU led to points on the other end late in the period as the home team carried a 33-18 edge into the intermission.

NSU used a 12-2 run over the first five minutes of the 3rd quarter to put the Badgers into a 45-22 hole en route to a 54-35 score at the start of the 4th period.
