DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 12, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team opened its 2021-22 regular season slate on Friday evening with a 91-31 non-conference loss to the hosting Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Eagles in the Bahama House Classic at the ICI Center.
The Eagles (1-0) were led by Macee Sugrue with 16 points as all 13 ERAU players to see action scored.
SHC shot 23.6% (13-55) from the floor including 12.5% (2-16) from 3-point range and was only 30% (3-10) from the charity stripe. The Badger lost 15 turnovers to six steals resulting in 21 points off turnovers for ERAU.
ERAU controlled the boards by a 51-25 margin while shooting 46% (29-63) overall including 46.7% (14-30) from long distance. The Eagles were 86.4% (19-22) in free-throw attempts and lost 14 turnovers against eight Badger steals for just three points off turnovers for SHC.
The Badgers (0-1) will finish play at the Bahama House Classic at 4 p.m. (east) Saturday versus the Rollins College Tars (0-1) in the ICI Center.
