Badgers women fall 62-42 to Rollins

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 13, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team closed out play in the Bahama House Classic at the ICI Center with a 62-42 loss to the Rollins College Tars on Saturday afternoon.

The Tars (1-1) held a 20-11 lead after the 1st quarter and built out a 32-19 advantage by halftime. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Rollins held a 45-31 bulge.

Sophomore guard Tyashia Bostick scored 20 points with 7 rebounds to lead the Badgers in both categories as SHC shot 22% (13-59) from the floor including 20% (3-15) from 3-point range. SHC hauled in 32 rebounds, but lost 17 turnovers to 12 steals by Rollins.

Rollins shot a solid 42.6% (23-54) overall and 35% (7-20) from 3-point distance, but 29 turnovers in the face of 11 Badger steals resulted in 19 points off turnovers for SHC. The Tars pulled down 49 rebounds as both teams benefited from 13 second chance points.

The Badgers (0-2) will visit their crosstown rivals the University of Mobile Lady Rams (3-1) on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium.
