MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team earned a 75-74 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) overtime victory at the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians on Saturday evening in Bruce-Johnson Hall.
Senior forward
Tiffany Valentine of Houston, Texas recorded a double/double with 37 points and 15 rebounds while freshman point guard
Lindi DeBilzan added 10 points with five assists.
As a team, the Badgers shot 46.3% (25-54) from the floor and 38.5% (5-13) from beyond 3-point distance. SHC lost the ball 28 times against 13 steals by the Magicians defense. The Badgers knocked down 66.7% (20-30) of their free throw opportunities and controlled rebounding by a 48-30 margin
Lamontazia Blair paced the Magicians with 24 points as LOC shot 32.4% (23-71) from the field and 33.3% (7-21) from 3-point range. The Magicians shot 72.4% (21-29) from the free throw line and lost 15 turnovers to four steals by the Badgers.
The Badgers (10-17, 9-8 SIAC West) close out the regular season on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center versus the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers (14-12, 10-7 SIAC West).
