Bulldogs bite Badgers, 3-0
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team opened the Gulf South Conference (GSC) portion of their schedule with a 3-0 loss to the Union University Bulldogs (1-1) at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex on Friday evening.
 
Holly Trisdale of Union scored in the 19th and 35th minutes off assists by Brooke Watson and Kirstie Jackson respectively to put the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-0 GSC) up 2-0 at halftime. Watson would later add her second assist of the night with a pass to Iris Seamster who found the lower left corner of the goal to extend the home team's advantage to 3-0 in the 69th minute of play.
 
Sophomore keeper Grace Riley (0-2) of Covington, La., faced 16 shots and three corner kicks by Union while making six saves. Rylee Iorio and Anna Venckusof the Lady Bucs split time in goal, playing a period each with Iorio earning one save and Venckusof picking up two saves. The Badgers got off 10 shots with three corners.
 
The Badgers (1-4, 0-1 GSC) next travel to Memphis on Sunday to face the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs (4-1) in a conference match at Signaigo Field beginning at 1 p.m.
