CALERA, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's golf team opened the 2019-20 season with a 7
th place finish out of the 8 teams that competed at the Full Moon Barbeque Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo Falcons at Timberline Golf Club.
The Badgers shot a combined score of 639 (315, 324, +71) over the par 71 course with junior
Claire Landry of Napoleonville, La., leading the way in a 9
th place finish out of 43 participants and a two-round score of 153 (76, 77, +11).
Freshman
Mary Catherine McDaniel from Columbus, Ga., turned in a notable collegiate debut with a 157 (76, 81, +15) score for 18
th place as did fellow freshman
Laura Goodson of Mountain Brook who placed 31
st in 163 (81, 82, +21) strokes.
Freshmen
Caroline Luck of Fairhope and
Olivia Leinart of Bettendorf, Iowa, also began their college careers with solid scores of 166 (82, 84, +24) and 170 (86, 84, +28) respectively.
The Badgers next tee off at the Carey Collegiate Classic hosted by William Carey University at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Monday-Tuesday, September 23-24.
