MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Badgers baseball team traveled to the state's capitol on Saturday for a doubleheader with Tuskegee University.
Game 1
SHC scored early and often in Game 1, plating three runs in the top of the 1st inning and another two in the 2nd inning.
All five runs were a result of hits from Spencer Miller who had a 3-run home run in the first and followed it up with a 2-RBI double in the second.
The Badgers cruised from there, taking the contest 11-2. Daniel Rodriguez finished 3-for-5 with two runs and a RBI.
Luke Dykes (3-0) pitched a complete game in the win, giving up one earned run and striking out seven.
Game 2
A big 1st inning propelled the Golden Tigers to a split, taking Game 2 of the twin bill, 6-5.
Tuskegee scored four runs in their first at-bat, highlighted by a 3-RBI double from Emory Willis.
The hosts added two more runs over the next two innings before SHC exploded in the 4th inning with five runs on three hits including a 2-RBI double from Joseph Guidry.
It would be all the visitors would manage in the loss after stranding six runners over the final four innings.
SHC (14-12, 8-2) will play two again on Sunday to wrap up their series with Tuskegee. First game starts at noon in Montgomery at Patterson Field.
