ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Spring Hill College baseball team traveled to Florida on Saturday for a non-conference doubleheader with Eckerd College, being shutout twice, 8-0 and 6-0.
Game 1
SHC was unable to to catch up with starter Dillon McCollough, as the Eckerd starter fanned 10 Badgers and surrendered no runs in 8.0 innings of work.
The Triton offense was efficient, scoring five funs in the first inning and chasing
Grant Atwood (1-1) after less than an inning of work.
Will Shaw worked 6.1 innings of relief, striking out four batters.
Game 2
The Badgers fate in game two was much the same. SHC scattered four hits over nine innings and failed to plate any of their base runners.
Tucker Powell (0-1) pitched 4.0 innings in the loss, giving up two earned runs and striking out two batters.
Daniel Rodriguez was the lone Badger who logged multiple hits for the day, registering a single in each contest.
SHC (2-4) will wrap up tis series with Eckerd on Sunday with a single game beginning at noon EST.
