Brandon Fischer scored 20 points and three other Badgers tallied in double figures, but it was not enough as Spring Hill fell to conference foe Miles College 75-61.
Â
The loss dropped Spring Hill to 7-16 on the season and a 3-11 mark in the SIAC. Miles improved to 14-7 and 11-3 in conference play.
Â
The Golden Bears jumped out to a 7-2 lead out of the gate and kept their foot on the accelerator for the next 8 minutes of the half.
Â
Fischer's jumper with 12:24 to play in the opening frame cut the lead to four at 18-14 but Miles' Nathan Sheffield immediately responded with a trey to push the lead back to seven.
Â
The Golden Bears led by as many as 17 points in the first half before settling for a 14-point advantage at intermission.
Â
Miles opened the second half in much the same manner it ended the first. The Golden Bears opened with a 7-0 run that put them ahead 51-30 with 18:30 remaining in the contest on a trey from Jelani Watson-Gayle.
Â
The Golden Bears would cruise in from there, keeping the Badgers at bay for the remainder of the contest.
Â
Miles got 21 points each from LaByron Harris and Damian Archer to lead all scorers.
Â
Spring Hill will be back in action again on Monday at Tuskegee University. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.
