MOBILE, Ala. – The Badgers baseball team played host to the Panthers of Florida Tech on Saturday for a non-conference doubleheader.
Game 1
Florida Tech scored three runs in each of the first two innings to jump out to an early lead en route to a 10-4 victory over Spring Hill.
The Badgers outhit the visitors 12-11, but were unable to capitalize with timely hits as the hosts stranded eight base runners.
Neil Ring finished 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI and two doubles. Grayson Williams was 2-for-3 for SHC. Chris George notched a double and a RBI in the loss.
Game 2
Spring Hill trailed 2-0 entering their final at-bat of the contest.
Florida Tech's Blaise Maris hit a solo home run over the right field wall in the 2nd inning and James Gronberg scored on a Dylan Owens single to centerfield in the 3rd inning to give the Panthers their scores.
Daniel Rodriguez started the rally with a single to shallow right centerfield. A walk and a hit batter loaded the bases for pinch hitter Ring who tied the game with a two RBI single down the right field line.
An intentional walk set the table for Williams who grounded into a fielder's choice to score the winning run and give SHC the walk-off victory.
SHC (3-7) wraps up their series with Florida Tech on Sunday with a single game beginning at noon.
