HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) court volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-17) non-conference victory over the William Carey University (WCU) Lady Crusaders at the Ben Waddle Volleyball Facility on Thursday evening.
As a team, the Badgers built a .226 (39-8-137) attack percentage with five aces as the SHC defense collected 97 digs with six blocks against the Lady Crusaders (13-14).
Individually, sophomore middle hitter
Kassandra Fairly of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., had 19 kills and three block assists while senior setter
Emmarose Neibert of Arnold, Mo., handed out 34 assists. Senior outside hitter
Patty Blood from Cincinnati, Ohio, served up three aces and fellow senior libero
Cassidi Sterrett of Lee's Summit, Mo., had 27 digs to bring her career total to 1,997.
The Badgers (28-4, 17-0 SIAC) next host Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rival the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers (7-16, 5-12 SIAC) on Friday, November 1, at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center beginning at 6 p.m. Before the match, the Badgers will receive their 2018 SIAC Championship rings. After the match, the squad will honor their eight Senior Class teammates with the annual Senior Night ceremony.
