HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's soccer team won its fourth consecutive match with a 2-1 Gulf South Conference (GSC) victory over the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Chargers on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park.
The Badgers held a 1-0 lead over the Chargers (4-7-1, 2-3-1 GSC) at halftime courtesy of a penalty kick goal in the 11

Alex Lipinski of Krefeld, Germany.
UAH finally answered back in the 82
nd minute when a pass from Connor Young found Khalil Bell open for a goal. Then the Badgers found lightening in a bottle when sophomore
Luca Carrese from Cascais, Portugal, attempted to head a corner kick, but the shot deflected off the crossbar and subsequently ricocheted off a Charger player and into the net for the deciding goal in the 88

SHC sophomore keeper
Alessandro Erdelyi (4-5) from Turin, Italy, collected five saves against 18 shots and three corner kicks by the Chargers. Across the field, Drew Kelly of UAH made one save versus 14 shots and three corner attempts by the Badgers.
"Today was a hard-fought 90 minutes," SHC head coach Steve Wiezcorek said following the game. "We deserved something from the game and in the end the boys made their own luck to take the win back home to The Hill."
Suddenly finding themselves back in the thick of the conference tournament hunt, the Badgers (6-6, 4-4 GSC) now take a week off before returning to conference road action on Friday, November 1, in Pensacola versus the 15
th-ranked University of West Florida Argonauts (9-1-1, 5-1-1 GSC) at 6 p.m. When asked about his thoughts on the final stretch run of the season, Wieczorek said, "I feel very excited about our chances if we continue to perform at this level and work for each other. It's fantastic to see this group come together."
Earlier this season, the Argos slipped past the Badgers 2-1 in the final minutes of a non-conference match at Library Field.
