Badgers rally to take Game 3 at Florida Tech 13-5
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team rallied from a 4-1 deficit after the 1st inning to win a 13-5 non-conference decision over the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) Panthers on Sunday afternoon at Andy Seminick-Les Hall Field.

The Panthers (9-13) grabbed a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning off Badger starter Austin Barrios (1-3) in a frame highlighted by a two-run homer from catcher Ryan Sinzenich, but Barrios would later settle in to last eight innings with nine hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

SHC would put four runs of their own of the board in the 3rd inning with first baseman Keaton Smith providing the big blow via a two-run single to left with two outs. Catcher Neil Ring then put a two-run single over the bag at 1st base to plate two more runs in the 5th inning. The Badgers continued to pour it on with five runs in a 7th inning that featured the second Spring Hill Grand Slam of 2018 when designated hitter Brennan Fontenot topped the wall in left-center.

The Badgers (4-12) will visit the University of Montevallo Falcons (14-8) for a non-conference game at Kermit A. Johnson Field on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
