WESTWEGO, La. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Jesuit rival the Loyola University (La.) Wolf Pack on Wednesday night at Segnette Field winning the opening game by the 13-7 and falling 7-3 in the nightcap.
Loyola (12-5) took a 3-1 lead in the 1
st inning of the opener, but SHC exploded for six runs in the 4
th inning highlighted by a
Justin Collier Grand Slam. The Wolf Pack narrowed the margin to 7-6 with a three-run 6
th inning, but SHC once again piled on the runs in the top of the 7
th frame with another six-run outburst.
Luke Dykes improved to 1-1 on the year for SHC with nine hits, six walks and nine strikeouts over six innings of work while five Badger enjoyed multiple-hit games against five Wolf Pack pitchers.
In the nightcap,
Austin Barrios (0-3) allowed five runs in the 2
nd inning after Loyola's Spencer Rosenbohm (3-0) had given up three runs in the top of the inning. Badger 1

The Badgers (3-9) will host the University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers in non-conference game on Wednesday beginning at 3 p.m. on historic Stan Galle Field.
