PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team lost a second decision in five days to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Thursday night at Jim Spooner Field with a 11-0 downturn.
The Argos (4-6) sandwiched two singles around a double with one out in the bottom of the 2
nd inning to take a 2-0 lead and later used an infield single with two outs in the frame to build out a 3-0 advantage. A bases-loaded Badger balk in the bottom of the 4
th inning made it a 4-0 lead for UWF that grew to 6-0 just one batter later when a single to left-center plated the remaining runners.
A leadoff double followed by a triple and a sacrifice fly extended the UWF cushion to 8-0 in the 8
th inning. The Badgers would break onto the board in the 9
th with a sacrifice fly by
Maverick Latour and an RBI-single by left fielder
Luke Wall.
Jonathan Williams of the Badgers fell to 0-2 on the year in four innings of work with six hits, four walks and four strikeouts while Josh Pahlad picked up the win in two hitless innings with no walks and no strikeouts in his first appearance of the year.
