CLINTON, Miss. – Spring Hill College women's soccer closed its 2018 season Oct. 27, falling on the road to No. 18 Mississippi College, 3-0.
The Badgers collected five shots, and three on goal, but were unable to push one past Choctaws' goalkeeper Andrea McDowell.
Gabrielle Burmaster had two shots on goal,
Mikaela Gamboa had one and
Meggie van den Oever had two off target.
Mississippi College scored all three of its goals in the first half, including two by Lauren Smith in the third and 25
th minutes of play. Dani Avelar added the third in the 37
th minute. Peace Gill, Lauren Dodge, Samantha Carson and Lauren Kate Carter each had an assist.

Grace Riley and
Kira Babiarz faced a combined 10 shots on goal, with Riley stopping two of her five faced and Babiarz had five saves to shut out MC in the second half. Riley completes the season with 21 saves in her eight appearances, while Babiraz completes her freshman campaign with 15 saves in five appearances.

Allison Whitworth. "The adversity we faced this season has made us a better team and better people. I'm thankful for the leadership of Gabby and Melissa our seniors as we embarked on our inaugural D2 season. All our future successes will be built on their foundational efforts."
Spring Hill closes the 2018 season with a 1-14-1 overall record, 1-11-1 in the Gulf South Conference, including a Sept. 16 win over Union University and Oct. 12 tie against Alabama Huntsville, both at home on Library Field.
