Orlando, FL – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team defeated Auburn University Montgomery to conclude play at the South Region Crossover held in Orlando, FL on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers claimed the victory by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, and 25-16.
Allison Weimer led the Badger offensive attack against AUM as she knocked down 13 kills. Following close behind were
Bentley Odom with 12 kills and
Kassandra Fairly with 11 kills.
Emmarose Neibert handed out 45 assists to pace the Badger attackers.
Defensively,
Cassidi Sterrett came up with 18 digs to again anchor the Badger back line.
Randi De'Armitt and
Payton Gidney each added 10 digs to support the back line defense. The Badgers sent back 7 Warhawk attacks with Odom contributing a team high 3 block assists.
"Another very slow start," said head coach
Peggy Martin. "Again, I'm glad we could put it together to get the win. Bentley was a force at the net. It's nice that we have different players stepping up to lead the team match after match."
The Badgers (25-3, 16-0 SIAC) will next play at longtime rival the University of Mobile on Wednesday, October 24
th at 7:00 PM.
