Badgers split results at Day 1 of University of Mobile Tournament
MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team split results at the opening day of the University of Mobile Tournament at H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium on Friday taking a 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 14-25, 20-25) loss to the host Lady Rams before bouncing back to earn a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-9) victory over the Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO Lady Knights in the afternoon match.
 
The Lady Rams (11-2) built a .277 (60-19-148) attack percentage with nine aces, 79 digs and seven total blocks while SHC closed the match with a .121 (32-15-141) attack percentage with one ace, 69 digs and nine total blocks.
 
Freshman Allison Weimer of Covington, La., led the Badger offense with 10 kills and sophomore setter Emmarose Neibert handed out 20 assists with a service ace. Sophomore libero Cassidi Sterrett collected 24 digs and Katelyn Bobinger had four block assists at the net.
 
SHC held the Lady Knights (1-6) to a .034 (17-14-87) attack percentage in the day's second match with three aces, 33 digs and five total blocks while the Badgers compiled a .298 (46-15-104) attack percentage with five aces, 57 digs and three total blocks.
 
Weimer added 10 more kills to her totals as Neibert dished out 29 more assists and Sterrett pulled in 20 more digs. Emily Greim made two solo blocks on the front line.
 
The Badgers (2-2) will finish play in the University of Mobile Invitational at Pharr Gymnasium on Saturday versus the Reinhardt University Eagles (5-1) at 10 a.m. followed by a match with the University of St. Thomas (Texas) Celts (2-2) at 12 p.m.
