Blazers burn Badgers, 6-0
VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team accepted a 6-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) road loss to the Valdosta State University (VSU) Blazers at the VSU Soccer Complex on Friday evening.

The Blazers (6-3, 4-2 GSC) struck first in the 24th minute with a goal by Ashley Lewis with an assist by Riley Tennant. Lewis struck again just as the halftime intermission horn sounded this time off a pass from Suvi Savolainen to put the Badgers in a 2-0 hole headed into the break.

VSU made it 3-0 in the 61st minute of play when Tennant scored with help from Carley Montgomery and Taylor Snell added her 6th goal of the season just five minutes later. Valdosta secured their 5th and 6th goals when Lewis completed her hat-trick in the 81st minute and then tacked on her 4th goal of the day for good measure in the 84th minute.

Sophomore SHC goalkeeper HP Fluharty (0-4) took the loss for the Badgers with 10 saves against 23 shots and six corner kicks by the Blazers while Caroline Embler earned the win for VSU with five saves versus eight shots and five corner attempts by Spring Hill.
