BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team swept to two more Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victories at Day 2 of the SIAC Divisional Crossover Tournament at the Birmingham Crossplex on Thursday.
SHC opened the day with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-11) sweep of the Claflin University Panthers (1-6, 1-3 SIAC East). Sophomore
Sarah Senft of Spring Grove, Pa., recorded eight kills while sophomore setter
Emmarose Neibert handed out 18 assists. Junior
Randi De'Armitt served up three aces and sophomore libero
Cassidi Sterrett earned 13 digs. As a team, SHC built a .472 (41-7-72) attack percentage and held Claflin to .027 (21-19-74).
Next, the Badgers won a 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-10) verdict over the Fort Valley State University Wildcats (2-7, 1-6 SIAC East).
Emily Sullivan earned eight kills as did
Patty Blood while Neibert distributed 26 assists. Sterrett roped in 18 more digs with 19 receptions as De'Armitt served four aces.
On Saturday, the Badgers (9-2, 5-0 SIAC West) closeout the 2017 SIAC Crossover versus the Clark Atlanta University Panthers (0-6) in the Crossplex at 10 a.m.
