MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team accepted a 2-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss versus the Christian Brothers University (CBU) Buccaneers at Library Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Buccaneers (4-2, 2-1 GSC) and the Badgers fought to a scoreless draw at halftime, but CBU finally dented the score board in the 60
th minute when Connie Strini played ball across the face of the goal right-to-left for a one-touch finish by Bailey Tadlock from one yard out.
The Bucs added an icing goal in the 74
th minute when Emily Woods launched a ball from 25 yards out that deflected high off a Badger defender and just found its way under the crossbar.
"I'm very proud of the fight in this group," said SHC head coach
Allison Whitworth after the game. "To emotionally battle back after a hard loss and compete the way we did makes me excited about what this group is growing into.

Aiesha Ledda all had great performances in our back group. We need more of this team to keep showing up."
Shankman (0-3) took the loss in-goal for SHC facing 25 shots and seven corner kicks, but recording eight saves. For CBU, Autumn Woods played the first half and made three saves versus against four shots and one corner attempt while Riley Chafin earned the win in relief at halftime by making four saves against seven shots and three corners.
CBU now leads the all-time rivalry between the two programs 7-0.
The Badgers (0-5, 0-3 GSC) will travel to Americus, Ga., on Wednesday to face non-conference foe the Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Lady 'Canes (0-3) at 3 p.m. (EST) on the GSW Soccer Field.
