JACKSON, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the Union University Bulldogs at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex on Friday evening.
The Bulldogs (1-3, 1-2 GSC) took the lead in the 8
th minute of play when Taylor Knight poked the ball in the net from five yards out off an assist by Tiffany Linser. Later, a header goal by Union's Hannah Hewett off an entry pass by Madison Studstill put the Badgers in a 2-0 hole in the 51
st minute.
Madison Studstill would add a third goal for the Bulldogs in the 54
th minute and Alli Herring made it 4-0 in the 70
th minute via an assist by Georgia Hopkins. Union continued to roll in the 74
th minute with a tally by Madison Wirth assisted by Austen DeLoach. Union tacked on the sixth goal when Wirth returned the favor to DeLoach for a tally with just under 10 minutes to play.

Hannah Shankman (0-2) made seven saves versus 26 shots and seven corner kicks while Union's Kristen Francis (1-2) faced just two shots and two corner attempts with no saves in 70 minutes in goal.
With the loss, SHC fell to 1-3 in the overall series with Union since the 2004 season.
The Badgers' (0-4, 0-2 GSC) return home to Library Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. when they will face the Christian Brother University (CBU) Buccaneers (3-2, 1-1 GSC) in a GSC contest.
