Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team lost a 4-3 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) decision to the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers at Paterson Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Badgers and the Golden Tigers (19-18, 5-7 SIAC) were tied at 1-1 in the 6
th inning when designated hitter Matthew Reed connected for a three-run home run to post the home team to late 4-1 lead.
Spring Hill responded with a two-run single by
Hunter Romero with two outs in the 7
th frame, but could get no closer despite loading the bases with two outs in the 9
th inning.
Justin Whitsett (6-3) took the loss in 6.1 innings of work after allowing five hits with a walk and six strike outs. Jordyn Thomas (5-1) was the winner in seven innings with six hits, four walks, and four strike outs while Ryan Green earned his first save of the year in two innings with three hits, a walk and two strike outs.
The Badgers (21-17, 10-2 SIAC) will next travel to Pensacola on Tuesday to face the University of West Florida Argonauts (23-14) in a non-conference game at Jim Spooner Field at 6 p.m.
