Argos take 6-0 victory over SHC softball
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team accepted a 6-0 non-conference loss to the University of West Florida Argonauts on Wednesday afternoon in a rare midweek single game at Murray Field.
 
The Argos put a pair of runs on the board in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings as center fielder Rachel Wright enjoyed a 4-for-4 day with a double and three RBI. UWF third baseman Tiona Hill had two hits with a triple.
 
Badger designated player Aly Fowler collected the only SHC hit on the day with a single to left-center in the 2nd inning as only four Badgers reached base on the day with two of those opportunity being fielder's choices.
 
Sophomore starter Danielle Clark (18-9) took the loss in three innings with four hits, three walks and a strike out while freshman Baylie Doiron finished the final four innings giving up six hits and a walk with four strike outs.
 
Becca Taylor (17-5) picked up the win in five innings with just one hit allowed, no walks and a strike out. Taylor Rolison completed the final two innings for the Argos with no hits, now walks and a strike out.
 
The Badgers (27-15) will next visit the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians (3-15, 2-9 SIAC) for a three-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series this weekend beginning with a double header on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn.
