Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team earned an 8-3 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory over the Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Panthers on Friday night at historic Stan Galle Field.

Sean Bretz improved to 8-1 on the season by allowing just one hit and one walk with seven strike outs in eight innings of work while Jezreel Moore of CAU fell to 2-4 on the year with six hits allowed, two walks and three strike outs in five innings.

Nicholas Chiasson's run-scoring single to center with two outs. The Badgers added a run in the 4
th inning via a solo home run out of left field by shortstop
Maverick Latour and then plated a fifth run in the 5
th inning off a sacrifice fly to deep left by right fielder
Justin Collier to score left fielder
Conner Harrison.

Two more runs crossed the plate in the 7
th frame off a wild pitch and a passed ball by the Panthers as the lead grew to 7-1. SHC closed out the scoring in the 8
th inning with a pinch hit, bases-loaded, infield single by
Austyn Jacques with two outs to score catcher
Brennan Fontenot.

Daniel Rodriguez had two hits while first baseman
Hunter Romero slapped a triple and double. For CAU, shortstop Kelechi Anyanwu had a run-scoring double in the 9
th inning while designated hitter Randy Rudulph punched a single through the left side for a run in the 3
rd inning.

The Badgers (27-20, 15-4 SIAC) will close out the 2017 on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a home conference double header versus the Panthers (13-23, 7-11 SIAC) beginning at 1 p.m. Between games, Spring Hill will honor their 12 senior teammates with the annual Senior Day ceremony.
