Women's Golf finishes 7th at 2017 GSC Championships
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's golf team finished out the 2017 season with a 7th place finish out of eight teams at the Gulf South Conference Championships at Callaway Gardens-Lake View on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Badgers shot a +217 score of 1081 (349, 373, 359) over the par-72, 5809-yard course to finish 178 strokes behind the University of West Georgia that took home the championship with a +39 score of 903 (306, 298, 299).
 
Individually for SHC, sophomore Hannah Vines of Rogersville, Ala., shot a +38 (81, 88, 85, 254) over the three-round event for 26th place out of 40 golfers while freshman Savannah Ennis of Abita Springs, La., carded a total of 262 shots (86, 90, 86, +46) for 29th place. YeYun Jin from the University of West Alabama earned the individual championship with a +3 score of 219 (72, 74, 73).
 
Junior Christine Grzesiak of Naperville, Ill., placed 32nd with 275 shots (86, 97, 92, +59), and sophomore Alex Shelton finished in 36th position with a score of +74 (96, 98, 96, 290). Junior Margaret Nelson of Kansas City, Mo., tallied 317 strokes (110, 103, 104, +101) to round out the Badger scores in 38th place.
