Hot hitting Badgers roll to 10-0 win over Miles
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team slapped 15 hits around historic Stan Galle Field on Friday night in route to a 10-0 seven-inning Mercy Rule decision over Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rivals the Miles College Golden Bears.
 
Freshman starter Sean Bretz (6-1) earned the first complete-game shut out for the Badger staff this season in a two-hit, one-walk performance that included four strike outs. Starter Matthew While (1-4) took the loss for Miles in 3.1 innings with nine hits, two walks and two strike outs.
 
At the plate, catcher Brennan Fontenot had three hits with a game-ending double for two RBI in the bottom of the 7th inning as third baseman Brandon Harigel mashed his eighth home run of the year out of left field in the 4th inning. First baseman Hunter Romero had two hits with a double and three RBI while center fielder Ulysses Fluellen had two hits with a triple and two runs scored. Shortstop Maverick Latour, designated hitter Hunter DArmond and second baseman Daniel Rodriguez all joined in the fun with two hits each.
 
The Badgers (23-17, 11-2 SIAC) will again host the Golden Bears (17-18, 9-4 SIAC) in an SIAC double header on Saturday at 1 p.m. at historic Stan Galle Field.
