Montevallo takes 12-5 win over Baseball Badgers
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team suffered a 12-5 non-conference loss to the University of Montevallo (UM) Falcons on Wednesday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field.

Spring Hill jumped out to 1-0 lead in the 1st inning when third baseman Brandon Harigel crushed a line drive home run out of left field with two outs. The Falcons (20-14) responded with three runs in the 3rd inning and built out as much as a 7-1 lead before the Badgers answered back with four runs in the 6th frame. Harigel lifted his second home run of the game out of right field for the first two runs, center fielder Ulysses Fluellen mashed a run-scoring double that found chalk down the left field line, and right fielder Justin Collier brought in Fluellen with a single to left-center.

Montevallo came back with four more runs in the 7th inning, however, as the Badgers would draw no closer.

Six Badger pitchers took to the mound on the day with starter Jordan Fontenelle (0-2) taking the loss in 2.2 innings with three hits, four walks and two strike outs. Jesse Ellefson (1-1) earned the win in 3.2 innings of relief with three hits, two walks and four strike outs as the Falcons used four pitchers in total.

Harigel finished the day with a 2-for-4 performance with three RBI while Fluellen had a double and a triple with one RBI. For the Falcons, second baseman Caleb Ledbetter picked up three hits with a home run and three RBI as center fielder Daniel Pardo added two hits with a homer and two RBI. Left fielder JD Roberts and shortstop Collin Dupree each had two hits with an RBI.

The Badgers (16-15, 6-0 SIAC) travel to Jackson, Tenn., this weekend to face Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponents the Lane College Dragons (1-18, 0-6 SIAC) in a three-game series beginning with a double header on Saturday at noon.
