Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team suffered a 12-5 non-conference loss to the University of Montevallo (UM) Falcons on Wednesday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field.

Spring Hill jumped out to 1-0 lead in the 1
st inning when third baseman
Brandon Harigel crushed a line drive home run out of left field with two outs. The Falcons (20-14) responded with three runs in the 3
rd inning and built out as much as a 7-1 lead before the Badgers answered back with four runs in the 6
th frame. Harigel lifted his second home run of the game out of right field for the first two runs, center fielder
Ulysses Fluellen mashed a run-scoring double that found chalk down the left field line, and right fielder
Justin Collier brought in Fluellen with a single to left-center.

Montevallo came back with four more runs in the 7
th inning, however, as the Badgers would draw no closer.

Six Badger pitchers took to the mound on the day with starter
Jordan Fontenelle (0-2) taking the loss in 2.2 innings with three hits, four walks and two strike outs. Jesse Ellefson (1-1) earned the win in 3.2 innings of relief with three hits, two walks and four strike outs as the Falcons used four pitchers in total.

Harigel finished the day with a 2-for-4 performance with three RBI while Fluellen had a double and a triple with one RBI. For the Falcons, second baseman Caleb Ledbetter picked up three hits with a home run and three RBI as center fielder Daniel Pardo added two hits with a homer and two RBI. Left fielder JD Roberts and shortstop Collin Dupree each had two hits with an RBI.

The Badgers (16-15, 6-0 SIAC) travel to Jackson, Tenn., this weekend to face Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponents the Lane College Dragons (1-18, 0-6 SIAC) in a three-game series beginning with a double header on Saturday at noon.
