Box Score 2 The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team took both halves of a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) double header from the LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) Magicians on Saturday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field by the scores of 17-6 and 9-1.

The Magicians (1-14, 0-3 SIAC) opened the first game with four consecutive hits to take an early 3-0 lead, but the Badgers answered back with six runs of their own in the bottom of the 1
st inning before cruising to a 17-6 final score.
Dylan Kiene survived his rough start to improve to 3-1 on the year with 4.2 innings of work in the seven inning game while allowing seven hits with two walks and two strike outs.
Jordan Fontenelle closed the final 2.1 innings with four hits, a walk and a strike out.

Hunter Romero and center fielder
Ulysses Fluellen each had three hits as Romero's numbers included a double with two RBI and Fluellen corralled two doubles, a triple and four RBI. Designated hitter
Brennan Fontenot smashed his fourth home run of the year out of right field in the 5
th inning while third baseman
Brandon Harigel, left fielder
Conner Harrison and second baseman
Maverick Latour all added a pair of hits to the scorecard.

Jacob Ranking took the loss in just .1 innings of work in his start with three hits, a walk and no strike outs. Darryl Dunbar pitched 4.2 innings with nine hits, nine walks and no strike outs.

In the second game of the early twin bill,
Justin Whitsett (5-3) of the Badgers went six innings and scattered seven hits with one walk and four strike outs while shortstop
Daniel Rodriguez had three hits with an RBI and Harrison contributed three safeties of his own. Romero tacked on another double as well as a two-run triple in the 4
th inning.

Caleem Serrant took the complete-game loss for LOC with 12 hits, two walks and two strike outs. Third baseman Taj Thompson and second baseman Anthony Owen both had three hits on the day for the Magicians.

The Badgers (16-13, 6-0 SIAC) will next host the University of Montevallo Falcons (17-14) in a non-conference game on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Stan Galle Field.
