Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team suffered a 7-5 non-conference loss to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Wednesday night at Jim Spooner Field.
SHC grabbed a 1-0 lead over the Argonauts (16-10) when freshman shortstop
Daniel Rodriguez put his first collegiate home run out of the park in the 1
st inning, but UWF answered back in the 2
nd inning with a two-triple followed by a sacrifice fly to take a 3-1 lead.

Brennan Fontenot in the 8
th frame, a run-scoring single to left by Rodriguez followed by a run-scoring balk by UWF in the 9
th inning. Spring Hill would get no closer as JT Granat of UWF earned his second save of the year by ending the game on a strike out with a runner at 2
nd base.
Rodriguez had three hits with two RBI on the day as Fontenot added two hits and an RBI to the Badger totals.
Austin Barrios (2-3) took the loss in five complete innings with eight hits, a walk and three strike outs.
The Badgers (13-13, 3-0 SIAC) will host Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) foes the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians (1-11, 0-1 SIAC) in a conference doubleheader on Saturday at noon on historic Stan Galle Field.
