Badgers struggle in 14-3 home loss to Mobile
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team lost a 14-3 non-conference decision to arch-rivals the University of Mobile Rams on Tuesday night at historic Stan Galle Field.
 
The Rams (18-9) held a 12-0 lead after three innings of play and led by as much as 14-0 after five innings before Spring Hill answered with three runs in the 6th inning. Freshman shortstop Daniel Rodriguez had three hits with two RBI for the Badgers while starter Michael Romano fell to 2-3 on the year in 2.0 innings of work with nine hits, a walk and no strike outs.
 
For Mobile, Kyle Buck (4-1) picked up his second win over the Badgers this season in 5.2 innings with nine hits, a walk and five strike outs. Right fielder Mason Schoettlin had three hits with three RBI and was a home run away from hitting for the cycle as Mobile pounded out 14 hits against four Badger pitchers.
 
The Badgers (13-12) will visit Pensacola on Wednesday to take on the University of West Florida Argonauts (16-10) beginning at 6 p.m. on Jim Spooner Field.
