Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team fought back from a 5-1 deficit in the 3
rd inning to tie the game a 6-6 in the 5
th inning only to see the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets take an 8-6 non-conference victory away from the Badgers on Saturday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field.

The Yellow Jackets (2-8) scored twice in the opening half inning, but senior center fielder
Ulysses Fluellen ripped a solo home run out of left field in the bottom of the 1
st frame. Cedarville then tacked on three unearned runs in the top of 3
rd inning only to have the Badgers answer right back with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the stanza. The big play of the Badger rally came with two outs and the bases-loaded when freshman shortstop
Daniel Rodriguez lifted what appeared to be a sacrifice fly to center that was misplayed resulting in not only first baseman
Michael Druhan scoring from 3
rd base, but third baseman
Brandon Harigel also crossing the plate from 2
nd base to cut it to a 5-4 contest.

Cedarville then scratched across a run in the 4
th with a ground ball to short stop by first baseman Markus Neff, but the Badgers responded with a sacrifice fly to left by right fielder
Justin Collier and a run-scoring single through the left side by pinch hitter
Ben Bolton to knot the game at 6-6.

In the 7
th inning, the Yellow Jackets scored their final two runs when designated hitter Joe Chapman singled to center to plate pinch runner Dan Llerena from 2
nd base and left fielder Gunnar Stinson trotted home from 3
rd base off a failed Badger pick-off attempt at 1
st base.

Michael Romano (1-2) took the loss in 3.1 innings of relief with three hits, two walks and no strike outs. Cedarville's Riley Landrum (1-0) earned the win in 1.2 innings of relief with four hits, a walk and three strike outs while Brent Solinger earned his first save of the year in 3.0 innings with just one hit, no walks and two strike outs.

Neil Ring each had two hits for the Badgers while Cedarville center fielder Colton Potter was 4-for-5 with two runs scored. Four other Yellow Jackets picked up two hits as Badger pitching surrendered 14 hits with four walks and five strike outs on the afternoon.

The Badgers (9-10) will next travel to Westwego, La., to take on Jesuit rival the Loyola University (La.) Wolf Pack (12-14) in a non-conference double header at Segnette Field on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
