No. 4 UNG survives Badgers, 2-0
Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team continued play in the Disney Tournament on Saturday morning and took the 4
th-ranked University of North Georgia (UNG) Nighthawks to the final pitch in a 2-0 loss.
Sophomore
Danielle Clark (9-3) surrendered a two-run home run to center fielder Stephanie Hartness in the top of the 1
st inning, but kept the Nighthawks off the board for the next five innings by scattering five hits with no walks and striking out two opposing batters.
Spring Hill loaded the bases against the Nighthawks (16-4) in the top of the 7
th inning, but UNG ace Kylee Smith (10-1) coaxed the Badgers into an infield pop-up, a strike out and a foul-out to 3
rd base to escape the jam and take home the two-hit victory with a walk and five strike outs.
Spring Hill (13-5) will next play the Armstrong State University Pirates (7-5) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
