Badger Baseball sweeps past AUM, 3-1 & 15-1
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team completed a three-game sweep of the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks by taking both halves of a Saturday double header by the scores of 3-1 and 11-1 at the AUM Baseball Complex.

Badger first baseman Michael Druhan broke open a scoreless tie with two outs in the top of the 3rd inning with a two-run home run out of left field. Third baseman Brandon Harigel then put the Warhawks (5-9) in a 3-0 hole in the 5th frame with a run-scoring single up the middle of the infield.

AUM answered back in the bottom of the 5th inning with a run off a double by Brandon Davis, but the home team would get no closer as Hunter DArmond would nail down his second save of the season in two innings of hitless relief with a walk and three strike outs. Justin Whitsett earned the win in five innings with three hits and two walks allowed with two strike outs. For the second time in three games Druhan was just a triple shy of the cycle at the plate while Harigel and left fielder Conner Harrison each tallied a pair of hits in the contest.

Spring Hill then pounded out 17 hits in the nightcap in route to a 15-1 victory in which Druhan was 3-for-4 including three home runs with five RBI. Center fielder Ulysses Fluellen and right fielder Austyn Jacques joined Druhan in the 3-for-4 club as nine Badgers collected hits with five reaching the multiple hits mark.

Austin Barrios (2-1) picked up the win in six innings allowing four hits with four walks and three strike outs while Michael Romano worked one inning of relief and gave up just one hit.

The Badgers (8-8) will visit Clinton, Miss., on Wednesday to take on the Mississippi College Choctaws (2-10) at 4 p.m. at Frierson Field.
